Amidst the fuel scarcity and increase in the price of the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) said it evacuated about 1.1billion litres of product in 14 days.
Although the situation seemed to be abating in some parts of the country, fuel queues were still noticed in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) while petrol pump price still sells between N200 and N220 In some filling stations.
A breakdown of PMS weekly evacuation sourced from the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) showed that between 28th February and 6th of March, 2022, a total of 538million litres of PMS was evacuated.
It put the average daily evacuation during the week at 76.86 million litres while the Year-to-Date average was 62.09million litres.
Also, between 7th-13th March 2022, the total volume of PMS evacuated for the week was 514.69million litres.
Similarly, the average daily during the week and Year-To-Date were 73.53 and 63.20 million litres.
It said over 70 per cent of all the evacuations took place at the top 20 High loading depots while others evacuated less than 30 per cent.
It listed the top 20 load-out depots to include Pinnacle-Lekki, Matrix, NIPCO, A.A Rano, AITEO, Ardova, 11PLC, Frederick, A.Y.M Shafa Limited, Prudent, MRS ltd, Bovas.
Others were; Masters, Total Apapa, Technology, Eternal, AIOEC Oil and Gas, HYDE, Shema Pet and Taurus.
