In the wake of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission’s (NERC) recent approval of a substantial tariff increase for Band A customers, attention has turned to Lagos State, where subscribers are bracing for the financial implications of the decision.
Findings have uncovered a document prepared by NERC which sheds light on the specific areas within Lagos State poised to feel the impact of the tariff hike.
According to the document, subscribers in Lagos State who fall under the Band A tariff plan are those fortunate enough to benefit from uninterrupted power supply, enjoying a remarkable 20 to 24 hours of electricity from the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company on a daily basis.
This revelation underscores the significance of the tariff increase for residents in these areas, many of whom rely heavily on consistent power supply for various aspects of daily life, including household activities, business operations, and healthcare services.
Further findings revealed that Lagos State subscribers of the Band A tariff plan who benefit from the 20 to 24 hours of Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company daily consumption as stated below:
