SPE Abuja holds ‘Walk for Sickle Cell’

The Society for Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Abuja Section, as part of activities marking its 10th Anniversary of Professional Excellence, has concluded preparations for a Walk for Sickle Cell, slated for Abuja.

The Society along with other public-spirited individuals groups and organizations will work with people living with Sickle Cell disease just to show love and demonstrate their human kindness to those living with the disease, thus giving them a sense of belonging, the Society said in a release.

The event would also serve as platform to raise funds for those living with the disease; to support and mitigate their health challenges. The Walk, which is in collaboration with VALUECHAIN Magazine Sickle Cell Foundation, is expected to create too much-needed awareness about Sickle Cell Disease in Nigeria.
