NNPC’s Kyari Delivers Ventilators, Ambulances, Oxygen Plant, Others To UNIABUJA Teaching Hospital

The Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mele Kyari, has handed over the medical equipment donated by the corporation to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada. 

The NNPC donated the equipment as part of the corporation’s intervention towards the on-going fight against Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the country. 

Earlier, Kyari’s announcement of the donation of the equipment by the NNPC had been reportedon Friday, as well as the joint donation of N11 billion by the national oil firm and 31 other oil firms in the country to help combat the COVID-19 scourge. 

The equipment donated includes: an oxygen generating plant; one brand new ambulance, six  NNPC operational ambulance vehicles, two ventilators, patient monitor, hospital beds, bedside cupboards, overtop tables, air conditioners, fully automated 5-part hematology analyzer and semi-automated chemistry analyzer. 

Other items handed over by the NNPC helmsman to the institution are: alert blood culture analyzer, UPS, pro-express Samsung printer, binocular microscope, table top centrifuge and pipettes. 

While announcing the donation on Friday, Kyari had said, “Health systems, the world over, are getting overwhelmed. Countries with stronger health systems are struggling to contain the disease. 

“It is obvious that to fight this menace, we all have to collaborate to ensure that Nigeria defeats the virus.”
