The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) is set to appoint a new spokesperson for the organization in the person of Samson Makoji.
The NNPC Group Managing Director, Mele Kyari, is believed to have given the approval for the appointment of Makoji as the acting Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, of the corporation.
Makoji, who is the General Manager in charge of External Affairs Department of the NNPC, would take over from Ndu Ughamadu who assumed the position of NNPC’s Group General Manager of Public Affairs in November 14, 2016.
Ughamadu, a veteran journalist, bows out of the corporation today having clocked the statutory retirement age of 60 years. He had served as group general manager, government and labour relations, at the office of the GMD.
Makoji, an indigene of Kogi State, would be the most senior general manager in the public affairs division.
As GM of external relations, Makoji is in charge of the corporation’s interactions and liaison with the National Assembly, embassies and foreign missions and sister government agencies.
