Is IBB Dead? The Real Truth…

The real state of the health of Nigeria’s former military ruler, Ibrahim Babangida has been revealed, following widespread rumour about his death yesterday.

Contrary to the rumour that former Military President is dead, it has been confirmed that he is alive, hail and hearty.

An online Media had published that the former President passed on Friday.

Our Correspondent however, gathered that General Babangida is hail and hearty and still bubbling with life. An impeccable source told our Correspondent that General Babangida, along with his children, close friends and associates broke fast together in his Hill Top mansion Friday.

“It is normal that during fasting like this, all the children of the former Military President normally come to Minna and break fast with him.

“Not only that, Babangida normally breaks his fast with many of his friends and other relatives and he has been doing so since this year’s fasting started including yesterday and as you know, the dead cannot break fast with the living and that is to tell you that the man IBB is still alive and not dead and still bubbling with life,” the source declared.

As at the time of going to Press, General Babangida was still said to be expecting some visitors which he was scheduled to meet around 10pm. IBB calls Buhari a role model to politicians “This is to tell you that the man is still very healthy and a testimony that he will still live long,” the source added.

For the second time in less than two months, the rumoured death of former military president, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida has once again rented the air through some social media postings but not without a swift reaction from his Hill Top residence in Minna, Niger state that he is alive.

One of the social media sites had, yesterday, reported that the former military president had died in Germany and that he would be buried in Minna his home town today (yesterday) by 2pm.

Reacting to the rumour, spokesman of the General, Alhaji Mahmud Abdullahi, described the development as a figment of lies by the authors who are only out to spread falsehood about the man.

He said, “General Babangida is an international figure whose identity cannot be hidden whether alive or dead. I can tell you categorically that Gen. Babangida is alive and had crossed over from Germany to Switzerland two days ago without any problem and infact, he spoke with many in Minna today, (yesterday). I can also tell you that nobody will hide his death from anybody. If IBB drops dead today, it will not take more than five minutes to announce it and the burial rites.”

On April 24 this year, Gen. Babangida while reacting to his death reports told journalists that the rumour did not shock him neither did it bother him because death is the end of any human being.

“The rumor does not shock me neither does it bother me because I know I must go and meet my creator. There is nothing really to worry about because my religion has told me much about death and we must all go at the appointed time.

“Therefore as a Muslim, I strongly believe everybody has to die. It could be now or in hundred years time or two days to come but the time doesn’t matter because nobody can predict that day or time,” IBB stressed.

When our correspondent visited his Hill Top residence, everybody was going about his or her official duties normally except for the low vehicular movement around the residence which is characteristic of the Ramadan period and the absence of the General from the country.
