Dangote’s multi billion-dollar refinery reportedly 75% complete

Nigerian business guru and philanthropist Femi Otedola on Wednesday, February 19, gave a situation report on Aliko Dangote’s multi-billion-dollar refinery and petrochemical unit after visiting the site.

The billionaire in a tweet shared on his personal Twitter page revealed that construction works on the refinery is now 75% complete, while the other facility is 60% ready.

Otedola also noted that the massive project is the 8th wonder of the world. The Dangote refinery and petrochemicals plant which is located at the Lekki Free Trade Zone is the second-largest fertilizer plant in West Africa with the capacity to produce 3.0 Million Tonnes of Urea per year.

The construction is expected to be the biggest oil refinery in the world after completion. The refinery which is reported to be producing 650,000 barrels per day (BPD) is set to transform Nigeria from being an importer of fuel to an exporter of refined petroleum products.
