The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) has said that the Dangote Refinery will put an end to long fuel queues, as well as the disruption of social and economic activities.
The Director General (DG) of MAN, Segun Ajayi-Kadir, made this remark while congratulating the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, as well as the Management of the Company on the completion and commissioning of its Petroleum Refinery, which is located in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos.
Ajayi-Kadir said that the Refinery, which is situated on land that spans across approximately 2,635 hectares, is the world’s largest single-train petroleum refinery with a 650,000 barrels per day (bpd) capacity and a 9000 Kilo Tonne Per Annum (KTPA) polypropylene plant ever built.
He stated that it is fulfilling to know that the Refinery is capable of meeting Nigeria’s requirement for all refined petroleum products, be it Gasoline, diesel, kerosene, or aviation jet fuel on a 100 percent level and still have surplus of each of these products for export.
The DG expressed that the Association would like to congratulate Dangote for all the determination and trailblazing zeal to bring the dream into a reality, referring to the refinery as the “pride-of-Africa birthed-in-Nigeria project.”
In his own words, “Dangote Refinery promises to bring to a pleasant end, the nightmare of long queues at petrol filling stations and the disruption of social and economic activities that come with it. The Refinery when fully operational is expected to generate $10 billion from the export of refined petroleum products and save Nigeria an estimated $10 Billion in foreign exchange.”
