Corpse of Senior Naval Officer murdered in Kaduna military cantonment, found in well

Two suspects have been arrested by military authorities after the decomposing body of a Senior Officer in the Nigerian Navy and Commandant of Command Secondary School of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) in Jaji community of Kaduna state, was found in a shallow well on Sunday September 22. 

The corpse of the Navy Commander identified as Oluwayemisi Ogundana with service number NN/2367, was abandoned inside a shallow well near Deeper Life Bible Church in Jaji Cantonment. She was reportedly declared missing on Friday September 20, after efforts to ascertain her whereabouts proved abortive.

The military authorities were forced to break into the deceased’s house at AVM Crescent (House 22) where her phone was found ringing inside the sitting room. Blood stains were found on her beddings, clothes as well as on the floor from the bedroom to the bathroom, and fears of her whereabout was heightened after her metallic gray Toyota Highlander with registration number AAA 434 CF (Lagos) was also missing.

A close observation of her immediate staff and family members paid off and led to the arrest of Mr Bernard Simon said to be a teacher at the Command Secondary School, Jaji and his alleged accomplice Mr Ibrahim Maman. They were arrested in Zaria while trying to dispose of her car.

The suspects who confessed to killing the mother of three whose husband and kids resides in Lagos, led the investigators to Agwanloyo by the railway where her corpse was recovered. The murdered Naval officer was reportedly dismembered and put in a big sack before being dumped in the shallow well.
