Avoid Panic Buying As Supply Improves – NNPC Urges Motorists

By William Emmanuel Ukpoju

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has reassured motorists that the nationwide supply and distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, is improving and has sufficient stock to last over 30 days.

In a statement, NNPC Ltd said it has over 1.5 billion litres of PMS in stock, equivalent to over 30 days of sufficiency. The company urged motorists to shun panic buying, which has led to long queues at filling stations in some states.

According to the company, the queues have already started thinning out in states like Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and the situation will continue to improve in other states.

NNPC Ltd is working with relevant downstream agencies, labour unions, and security operatives to address hoarding and other unwholesome practices that may be contributing to the queues.

Motorists are advised to remain calm and avoid panic buying, as the company is working hard to ensure a stable supply of petrol across the country.
