The President of the just commissioned Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals plant, Aliko Dangote, has said that the refinery would serve as a hub for vital raw materials for the manufacturing of different products.
Dangote stated this while speaking at the commissioning ceremony of the refinery in Lagos on Monday, where he pointed out that access to raw materials for the manufacturing of plastic, metal, building materials, as well as oil and gas would be made easy and affordable when the refinery begins production.
According to him, the refinery has about 40 percent capacity for the export of these products and other oil products that would help boost foreign exchange. He also noted that the refinery would enhance employment opportunities for Nigerians.
The Group President stated that the facility was established based on the Company’s need to ensure self sufficiency in Nigeria, while still meeting up with global competition. He expressed that the nation’s petroleum products demand would be met, which would in turn have a huge impact on their lives.
