The Management of Oriental Energy Resources Limited has vowed to meet its social investment obligations to its host community of Mbo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State based on the provisions of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) of 2021.
The Managing Director of the Company, Mr Mustafa Indimi, said that the Company has made significant contributions to sustainable community development and this is evident in the projects and programmes successfully completed by it in the last five years.
He revealed that Oriental Energy has made satisfactory progress towards the establishment and incorporation of the Host Communities Development Trust Fund as required by the PIA.
According to him, the energy firm is currently in the process of finalizing arrangements to conduct Host Communities Needs Assessment in collaboration with the community’s stakeholders as required by the Act.
Indimi also commended the people of the area for partnering with Oriental Energy to deliver sustainable community development projects and programmes in the area of operations.
