NNPC Remitted N10 Trillion To Federation Account In Sept – Kyari

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has announced that it remitted N10 trillion to the federation account as of September 2024.

This was disclosed by the Group Chief Executive Officer, Malam Mele Kyari, during a presentation to the National Assembly Joint Committee on Finance in Abuja.

Kyari stated, “Until 1st October 2024, NNPC, as mandated by the Petroleum Industry Act, PIA, acted as the supplier of last resort on fuel supply, which requires a forensic audit to know how much NNPC is being owed or owing any agency.”

He emphasized that NNPC’s transactional account is transparent, publishing 100% of its accounts yearly, making it the only company in Nigeria to do so.

The NNPC Group Chief Executive Officer also noted that the company is the highest taxpayer in the country, as well as the highest payer of royalties and dividends to shareholders.

The company has requested a forensic audit on the funds spent for petrol price stabilization from January to September 2024.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has been invited by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPC, to take a tour of the Port Harcourt Refinery.

NNPC, in a statement on Thursday, explained that the invitation is aimed at allowing Obasanjo to verify the operational status of the oil processing facility in Rivers State.
