Iheanacho, Etebo, Other Super Eagles Stars Arrive Vienna Ahead Of Cameroun Clash

*Nigeria who are three-time African champions will be facing Cameroun this month in double header

*Gernot Rohr who is Super Eagles coach and his men will be using these two games to prepare for the World Cup qualifiers

*Nigeria failed to qualify from the group stages at the last World Cup tournament which was held in Russia

William Troost-Ekong has arrived the Super Eagles camp in Austria as the first player ahead of the double header against Cameroun which will help Nigeria prepare for the World Cup qualifiers.

Troost-Ekong who is on the books of Championship side Watford was spotted doing some exercise alone in Vienna ahead of the big encounter against Cameroun.

The first encounter between Nigeria and Cameroun will on Friday, June 4, while the second clash will be played on Tuesday, June 8 in Vienna.

Last time Nigeria and Cameroun met was on July 6, 2019 and the Super Eagles won the encounter 3-2 in African Cup of Nations.

The last time Cameroun defeated Nigeria was in the year 2000 during the final of the African Cup of Nations in which the Super Eagles suffered painful loss.

In total, Nigeria have beaten Cameroun 12 times, drew seven games while the remaining four encounters ended in draws.

According to the confirmation made by the Super Eagles on their official page, they stated that the likes of Kelechi Iheanacho, Etebo, Anayo Iwuala, John Noble, Coach Alloy Agu, Marcus Abraham and Shehu Abdullahi have also arrived.

Kelechi Iheanacho ended the season well with Leicester City as they won the FA Cup title beating Chelsea in the final even though they failed to make the top four.

It had earlier been reported how Nigeria vs Cameroun international friendly game took another turn as six out of nine defenders have withdrawn from the encounter slated for Friday, June 4, 2021, in Austria.

The likes of Ola Aina, Zaidu Sanusi, Tyronne Ebuehi, Semi Ajayi, and Valentine Ozornwafor have all pulled out due to respective injury problems.

The number of players out of the fixture has now risen to eight, six of them are defenders with just three left in the squad.

Rohr, however, assured the game will go on, provided the players flying in from England are allowed into Austria and not quarantined.

However, players coming in from England have been allowed into Russia without being quarantined and Rohr believes the match would go on as planned.
