NLNG Wins Operational Excellence Award At NOG Energy Week 2026

Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) has won the Operational Excellence Award at the 2026 Energy Awards, held during the 25th edition of NOG Energy Week in Abuja.

The award recognised its strong operational performance, safety culture and commitment to efficiency across Nigeria’s energy sector.

The award was presented on Wednesday at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja, where policymakers, regulators, industry leaders, investors and technology providers gathered for the annual NOG Energy Week conference, one of Africa’s leading energy events.

According to the organisers, the Operational Excellence Award recognises organisations that have demonstrated outstanding performance in process optimisation, operational reliability, efficiency improvements, cost-effectiveness and sustainable business practices.

NLNG said the recognition reflects its continued commitment to safe, reliable and efficient operations while setting industry benchmarks in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.

The company maintained a strong presence throughout the five-day conference, which ran from July 5 to July 9, participating in strategic discussions on gas development, operational excellence, sustainability, innovation and Nigeria’s growing role in global energy security.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by its Manager, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs, Anne-Marie Palmer-Ikuku, NLNG said the award underscores the company’s sustained focus on operational discipline, world-class asset management and a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

It added that the award recognises the dedication and professionalism of its workforce, whose commitment to excellence has enabled the company to consistently deliver reliable liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies to international markets while supporting domestic gas utilisation.

NLNG further stated that its operations continue to contribute significantly to Nigeria’s economy through local content development, revenue generation and strategic investments across the gas value chain.

The company noted that as it advances major growth projects, including the Train 7 Project, the latest recognition reinforces its ambition to remain a leading global LNG producer while supporting Nigeria’s drive to maximise its vast natural gas resources for economic growth, industrialisation and the energy transition.

It added that the 2026 NOG Energy Week highlighted the importance of collaboration, innovation and sustained investment in unlocking Africa’s energy potential, describing the award as another milestone in NLNG’s efforts to deliver long-term value to stakeholders and the wider energy industry.
