Due to the recent global crisis of COVID-19 pandemic, the climate emergency and conflicts have affected women who have shown the capacity in decision-making with exception; that’s why most women all around the world are leading in tackling global issues and these steps have made impact in the society. It has brought about women’s visibility in targeting solutions.
Women are now penetrating economic, social and political sectors with huge difference. This is advancing the proportion of women in such sectors. It has led to success stories in many societies leading to more women in leadership. Elevating women in decision-making, even though women’s leadership will not happen automatically in some sectors; yet the beneficial aspect of it is visible because looking at how families are being run in every society falls to the women being in-charge. They are the only ones that can make things happen in various sectors. Therefore, it didn’t stop only in homes but other aspect of lives be it politics, business, organizations or communities; the reflection of women’s impacts tells it all.
A recent report shows that globally, women comprise 21 per cent of the world’s ministers, 26 per cent of national parliamentarians, and 34 per cent of elected local government seats. The outcome of these percentage is part of the world’s achievement today because it has become a tradition all over the world that a role of women is essential in the scheme of things. Every woman works for the betterment of others by tying herself in different relationships in all her life and we have seen women in different forms like sister, mother, wife, daughter etc that is why there is stability and long-term development of nations through these varieties of roles.
Women are the source of inspiration to mankind given their self-control, orderliness, industry, honesty and discipline in the family circle. Apart from that women exude a great deal of dedication in respect of welfare of the people around them. This shows how important their roles determine progress in the society. The world needs to understand the need for women to participate in shaping the world because they are the backbone of every society. The advantage of women involvement in societal affairs cannot be overemphasized. Women remain the instruments for human resource development in the society. Therefore, encouraging women empowerment is the right step in the right direction.
Economically empowered women with a strong sense of community, can no doubt counter violent extremism and growing dissatisfaction among the citizenry. There is no gainsaying the fact that creating economic opportunity for women allows them to pass on values of inter-ethnic trust and community identity to their children, laying the foundation for the development of a more resilient and stable society.
