The CEO of Sustainable Energy for All (SEForAll), Damilola Ogunbiyi, has urged Nigeria’s incoming governors to prioritize the implementation of the nation’s energy transition plan within their states.
Ogunbiyi, who addressed the incoming governors at the 2023 Induction Program for Nigerian Governors in Abuja, highlighted renewable energy, clean cooking, and electric buses for mass transportation as part of the various ways that they can implement the country’s energy transition plan in their given states. She stressed that there are numerous opportunities available across the country, which are capable of contributing to Nigeria’s goal of achieving energy transition.
The SEForAll Boss encouraged the governors to focus on promoting industrialization in their states as a means of fighting against poverty within the nation. Ogunbiyi also emphasized the importance of embracing renewable energy, clean cooking solutions, as well as electric buses for mass transportation in order to successfully execute the energy transition plan.
She added that SEForAll is offering additional assistance to Nigeria through its result-based finance facility, which she said is currently implementing a program called Stand-Alone Solar for Productive Use, with the aim of enhancing electricity access for households, as well as small and medium enterprises (SMEs) across the country.
