Reps summon non-compliant petroleum depots, give 7-day ultimatum

The House Committee on Midstream has summoned petroleum depots that failed to meet regulatory standards, instructing them to present comprehensive working documents in Abuja within seven days.

This announcement was made on Tuesday through the official X, formerly Twitter, handle of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).

The summons comes after a three-day oversight visit by the Committee, led by Hon. Odianosen Henry Okojie, to depot locations in Delta State, including Koko, Warri, and Oghara, as part of its regulatory responsibilities.

According to the NMDPRA, “The few depots that did not meet the Committee’s requirements have been called to appear before them in Abuja within seven days with comprehensive operations documents.”

The Authority did not reveal the names of the depots that did not comply with the regulatory standards.

The NMDPRA also noted that Okojie commended the Authority’s Chief Executive, Engr. Farouk Ahmed, and his management team for their effective oversight, which has fostered positive compliance within the industry.
