President Bola Tinubu has appointed Ahmed Galadima Aminu to serve as the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) for a term of four (4) years.
This was revealed in a statement issued to journalists by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale on Tuesday.
Aminu has most recently served as the General Manager of the Education and Training Department at PTDF.
According to the statement, Aminu’s appointment trails the application for retirement submitted by the outgoing Executive Secretary / CEO, Bello Aliyu Gusau, to proceed on 90-days pre-retirement leave beginning on September 26, 2023.
The President has directed the new Executive Secretary / CEO of PTDF, Ahmed Galadima Aminu, to serve in acting capacity until he commences his fresh term of four (4) years in office, beginning on December 26, 2023.
The Petroleum Technology Development Fund was established to enhance the training of Nigerians to qualify as graduates, professionals, technicians and craftsmen in the field of Engineering, Geology, Science and Management in the petroleum sector.
It was the first major step at institutionalizing the policy of local manpower development in the oil and gas industry.
