The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) in its report said it hit a record high ₦12.2 trillion revenue in 2024.
Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy disclosed the details of the NUPRC report in a post on his official X account on Saturday.
Onanuga also praised Tinubu, saying that the NUPRC, a regulatory agency in the energy sector, has reported remarkable progress under the president, “the leader whom the misguided, anti-progress elements in the so-called coalition of hate want to remove from office.”
According to the NUPRC report for 2024, revenue growth hit a record high that year.
“NUPRC revenue (Trillion naira) – 2022: ₦3.7tr; 2023: ₦4.3tr and 2024: ₦12.2tr which makes it 176.7% increase in 2024,” the report read.
According to Onanuga, this success is not isolated, stating that agencies like the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) and the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), formerly known as the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) have also posted record results in recent months.
Onanuga pointed out that these achievements demonstrate that the Tinubu administration is making progress, as it is delivering tangible results in key sectors.
He said as a result, it is unthinkable that some groups, united by hate and consigned to political wilderness, are calling for political change.
“I urge Nigerians not to be fooled. Verify the facts and make informed decisions about the country’s future,” Onanuga said.
“The facts are clear: in two years, the Tinubu administration has beaten the records of all previous governments, including 16 years of PDP in power.”
