ASB Launch: Barkindo eulogises Prof. Puck, Secretariat staff

Delivering remarks at the Annual Statistical Bulletin launch, today in Vienna, Austria, the OPEC Secretary General, Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo acknowledged Professor Jonas Puck of the Vienna University of Economics and Business for co-sponsoring the ASB’s launch and said OPEC looks forward to further collaboration in the future.

The SG thanked OPEC Secretariat staff for their excellent efforts in collaborating with the Member-Countries to develop this “formidable piece of work.” You are to be commended for producing a publication of great quality and timeliness,” said the SG. 

The Head of OPEC’s Data Services Department, Ms. Boshra AlSeiari, gave a detailed presentation on the main findings of the 2020 ASB. The Data Services Department, in close collaboration with OPEC’s Member Countries, spearheads the annual production of this publication. 

The SG remarked on the high value placed upon the publication among stakeholders, saying, “The ASB is one of OPEC’s flagship publications, which, through the decades, has risen in stature to become a highly trusted and valued resource for a wide range of industry stakeholders.”
