FG Calls Urges Private Sector Collaboration On Energy Governance

The Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) has called for collaboration between private sector stakeholders and government officials in policy-making bodies in order to enhance national energy efficiency and conservation.

The Acting Director-General of ECN, Mr. Joseph Sunday Olayande, emphasized the importance of the collaborative effort during a workshop that was focused on industrial energy policy efficiency and regulatory intervention. 

The workshop provided capacity building and training for government energy policymakers and regulators in Nigeria.

Olayande said that the collaborative approach aims at strengthening the National Industrial Energy Efficiency (NIEE) Policies and Regulatory Frameworks, thereby fostering the adoption of Energy Management Systems Standards (EMSS) across Nigeria.
