Valuechain Publisher, Musa B. Usman Now NIPR Council Member

The Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of the Valuechain Energy Magazine, Alhaji Musa Bashir Usman, FNIPR, FIMC, has been co-opted as Council Member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

This was conveyed in a letter signed by the Registrar who is also Secretary to the Council, Chief Uzoma Onyegbadue, fnipr dated 15th December, 2025 in which the Registrar said “I am directed to formally convey to you, your co-option as a member of the Council of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, pursuant to Resolution NIPR/30/CM/122/1, taken at the 122nd Council Meeting held on Wednesday, 26 November 2026.

“At the said meeting, Council resolved to co-opt Alhaji Musa Bashir Usman, fnipr, as a member to serve out the tenure of the office of Council member Mallam Bashir Chedi, who has transited,” according to the letter.

It also added: “This is pursuant to provisions of the NIPR Act, Cap N114, LFN 2004, Schedule 1, Section 7, (b) which states as follows: “If for any reason the office of a member of the Council is vacant and- … such member was elected, the Council may, if the time between the unexpired portion of the term of office and the next meeting of the Institute appears to warrant the filling of the vacancy, co-opt some fit and proper person for the remaining period of the member concerned.

“The Secretariat will be grateful to receive your acceptance in writing to process necessary invitation to the next Council meeting slated for Monday, 22nd December, 2025, by 8.30pm, to be held virtually. Congratulations as the Council looks forward to your valuable contributions to the Institute. Please accept the assurances of our profound regards,” the letter concluded.

In his acceptance note, Alhaji Musa Bashir Usman heartily said “As communicated, I have been co‑opted by the governing board of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) to serve the remaining term of our late Fellow, Alh. Bashir Adamu Chedi.

He pointed out that “This appointment (co‑option) into the highest governing body of our Institute, the Council, is one of the best things that has ever happened to me in recent times. I am grateful to Almighty Allah for the privilege and call to duty, and I pray to Him to grant me the strength to serve with dedication”.

Extending his appreciation to elders in the chapter, Alhaji Musa Bashir poured encomiums on, particularly the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, FNIPR; the former NIPR President, Malam Muktar Sirajo, FNIPR; and the former Vice President, Malam Mohammed Auwal, FNIPR. “I also extend special appreciation to the NIPR President, Dr. Ike Neliaku, FNIPR for granting this nomination.

“Furthermore, to my chapter chairman, Haroun Malami, I want to assure you that I will go into this new assignment — though the scope is national — but you can be rest assured of my loyalty as one of your members. I will do anything within my limits to ensure that my chapter continues to benefit from the good representation we enjoyed during the period of late Fellow Bashir Adamu Chedi of blessed memory,” the Publisher enthused.

“Thank you all for your goodwill messages, and, as emphasized by the chairman, I need your prayers to succeed. Thank you, and may Allah continue to bless our chapter”.
