Toyota Nigeria Limited (TNL) made a bold impression at the 25th Abuja International Motor Fair, turning its exhibition space into a dynamic mobility showcase that highlighted the brand’s reliability, customer commitment, and long-standing leadership in Nigeria’s automotive market.
The event, declared open on Tuesday, November 18, by Vice President Kashim Shettima, represented by the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh, SAN, attracted thousands of auto enthusiasts, industry stakeholders, and prospective buyers. Among the various pavilions, Toyota’s stand quickly became a major attraction point for visitors seeking durable and trusted transportation solutions backed by decades of proven performance.
Rather than relying solely on new product announcements, Toyota used the platform to strengthen relationships with loyal customers and educate potential buyers on its diverse lineup of vehicles, ranging from compact city-friendly models to rugged off-road icons capable of handling Nigeria’s toughest terrains.
Star Models and Product Highlights
One of the standout vehicles was the all-new Urban Cruiser, a compact crossover SUV powered by a 1.5-litre engine and built for modern city drivers seeking fuel efficiency and comfort. Also showcased was the globally celebrated Toyota Corolla, available with a 1.8-litre engine and offered in both leather and fabric interior trims.
Other featured models included:
• Toyota RAV4 two-wheel-drive variant with leather seats
• Toyota Camry luxury edition powered by a 3.5-litre engine
• Toyota Hiace 16-seater bus with a 2.7-litre engine, designed for commercial operators
The legendary Hilux pickup, known for its durability, was displayed with a 2.7-litre engine, alloy wheels, and options for both automatic and manual transmission.
A major highlight for many enthusiasts was the latest addition to Nigeria’s market: the new Land Cruiser Prado, appearing in two trims, the 2.7-litre TX and the 2.4-litre turbocharged VX. Toyota also showcased the iconic Land Cruiser VX, widely celebrated as the “King of the Road”, now upgraded with a 3.5-litre twin-turbo engine, sunroof, wireless charging, and reverse sensors. Completing the premium lineup was the Land Cruiser 300 GXR, offering rear-seat entertainment, collapsible third-row seating, and a V6 4.0-litre engine.
Commitment to Customer-Focused Service
Speaking at the event, Mrs. Bukki Ogunnusi, Unit Head of Advertising and Public Relations for Toyota Nigeria Limited, emphasised that Toyota’s participation went beyond display. She noted that the pavilion was carefully designed to support both new and existing customers with real-time sales and after-sales enquiries.
“Our accredited dealers are here to offer personalised guidance and ensure every visitor finds a vehicle that meets their needs,” she stated.
Ogunnusi reaffirmed the company’s dedication to maintaining the culture of trust and reliability that has made Toyota a leading automotive name in Nigeria.
With a strategic blend of innovation, product diversity, and customer engagement, Toyota’s presence at the 2025 Abuja Motor Fair strengthened its position as a front-runner in Nigeria’s auto industry, showing once again why the brand remains the preferred choice for personal, commercial, and luxury mobility solutions.
