According to a report by DAILY POST on Monday, August 10, 2026, some filling stations in Abuja have again reduced the pump price of petrol following a fresh price reduction announced by Dangote Refinery.
A market survey conducted on Monday showed that several filling stations had adjusted their prices downward, giving motorists some relief amid continued concerns over the cost of petrol.
MRS filling stations reportedly reduced the price of petrol from N1,260 to N1,210 per litre in Abuja and neighbouring areas.
The latest adjustment represents a reduction of N50 per litre.
Similarly, AA Rano and some other filling stations along the Kubwa Expressway reportedly reduced their pump prices by about N25 per litre, bringing the price to approximately N1,275 per litre.
The fresh reductions came shortly after Dangote Refinery announced another adjustment to the prices of Premium Motor Spirit, commonly known as petrol, and Automotive Gas Oil, AGO.
The refinery’s pricing decisions have continued to influence the retail market as petroleum marketers adjust their pump prices in response to changes in the cost of products.
The latest development follows another round of reductions recorded about eight days earlier, when MRS and other filling stations reportedly reduced petrol prices by between N25 and N45 per litre.
The continued downward adjustment could provide some relief to motorists and businesses that have been heavily affected by elevated fuel costs.
However, petrol prices remain subject to differences across filling stations and locations, with factors such as supply, distribution costs and prevailing market conditions influencing the final retail price.
